We believe being a parent is one of the most wonderful and rewarding things we will ever experience. However, especially in our Western world of nuclear families and FIFO workers, we can feel challenged, disheartened and alone.
At playgroup we aim to provide a place where anyone can come, meet other parents/carers, form friendships and be supported. We also aim to prepare children for more formal education by providing opportunities for socialisation, becoming part of a group and developing fine and gross motor skills.
A typical program consists of:
- Free play (dress ups, dolls, train table, play dough, Lego, jigsaws, and construction toys)
- Group music/singing time on the mat
- Morning tea (fruit)
- Craft activity
- Free play outside (cars, bikes, water and sand play)
- Story time
Playgroup is open to any child (from birth to 4 years old) and their parents/carers and is run by volunteers by East Freo Church.
We meet on Wednesdays and Fridays during the school term from 9.30-11.30
Cost: $40 per family/term (or $5 per week)
